Loved this book as it shows us what a community coming together looks like. The protagonist fights for her local library, what can be more inspiring that that? Most importantly it reminds the reader, how historical events can inform us for today. Tying together historical activism and making it relatable.

A little girl that loves books and spends lots of time at her library until she is devastated by the news that the library has to shut down. She decided to SPEAK UP to try and save the library inspiring friends, family and strangers to help her. Recommended for children from Reception - Year 2.

Rocket (main character) is a highly inspirational figure, who illustrates the positive impact just one person can have in their community when they have the courage to stand up and be counted. I would recommend this book for a Key Stage 2 class, using it as a basis to discuss ideas of how we can improve our local community and have our voices heard.

Rocket loves books! When she hears the local library is set to close she SPEAKS UP! Very apt for the children in our school who are also do this exact thing and are trying to save our local library. A great message delivered in a bright , clever way

I really enjoyed this book. I think it is inspiring to young readers, encouraging them to speak up for what they care about. Rocket is a great role model for young children and I think this book should be read to 5 and 6 year olds. It is also beautifully illustrated.
