I read this with my 8 year old. We were hooked right from the start and loved all of the crazy characters. Some of the vocabulary was quite tricky- even for me! And we found parts of the story hard to follow but it all comes together with fabulous twists at the end. An excellent adventure story.

An enjoyable read in a fantasy land. Lots of interesting characters and kept me reading to find out what would happen next. I would recommend for upper key stage 2 children.

I found it really hard to actually put this book down so much so that my family nearly missed out on dinner, followed by me later that night not wanting to turn the light out and go to sleep! The Train to Impossible Places is a fun, high-speed, roller coaster of a story full of fabulous characters, imaginary worlds and some of the best descriptive writing I have ever read. The story from start to finish is beautifully written as the postal train visits one world and then another to deliver the post to a variety of characters. Of course there has to be a twist, in this case provided by the newest postal worker as she steals something from it's intended recipient. Slowly the truth begins to unfold as the new friends begin to set things right Definitely one to recommend and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Such a great book from beginning to end. Engaging characters, interesting plot with twists and turns.

Despite the obvious parallels with Harry Potter, this book is different enough to keep you entertained as the main character, Suzy, finds a goblin fixing a railway track in her kitchen! The train then takes her to all sorts of magical places, and she gets into all kinds of adventures on the way. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoyed Harry Potter, or just likes adventure stories!

Following the mysteries and journey of Suzy, the Train to Impossible Places provides twists and turns at every step. Meeting a range of characters and challenges on the way, this book tells the tale of Suzy, a girl who starts her adventure when waking up from a dream. A new mystery to solve at every step, this is a great book to enjoy!
